Before Nancy Dru, there was an online radio station in the ’90s, jungle and IDM in the early 2000s, ambient experiments—and a producer called The Square Root of Evil.

Jen Pearson’s route through electronic music has never been linear. Releases including Chirping Data and Killerbytes led to live performances at MUTEK, Decibel and Communikey. Then four-on-the-floor rhythms—and the magnetic pull of the 303—opened another door.

As Nancy Dru, she turns that history into danceable sets with less predictable twists—deep, psychedelic techno, warm house and open-ended ambient, always led by curiosity rather than genre rules. She only plays music she loves, chosen to appeal to the brain as much as the body.
